Many view Emotional Intelligence as a single item when in fact it’s actually 15 different skills working together (EQ-i 2.0 model). The exciting aspect of emotional intelligence is that it can be developed. The key to development is having the will to step out of emotional responses that may have become patterns for us and while those patterns may work o.k. at times there is always room to go from good to better, better to best, or even best to excellence. Again, the key is having the will to take the step in a new and healthier direction. Emotional Intelligence skills that contribute towards our will to succeed are Self-Actualization, Self-Regard, and Optimism.
Your Will to Success
Though you are fearful, I Will not make the fear own you, as I Will give you courage.
When you lack hope, I Will help you stand strong, chin high with faith in the impossible.
The world may set limitations upon you, but I Will not allow you to accept those.
Opportunities exist all around you, and I Will help you choose what’s best.
Though you have the right to give up in times of difficulty, I Will help you persevere.
Claim victory, as you are Willing to learn and grow when you fail.
You show others how much they mean to you when you are Willing to give up the right to be right.
Change happens every second and you have the Will to adapt.
You know your weaknesses and are Willing to develop.
You know your strengths and talents and you are Willing to use them to help others.
When a door is shut on your dreams, you Will seek another to open for you.
Though you think “I can’t”, I Will not keep those words from strengthening your measure.
Do not challenge my existence, for it Will win out in the end, every time.
I am your Will and I am waiting. It is up to you to use me for your success.
